what kind of metal to use?

Was just curious what type of metal would be suggested for making a bracket to mount a seat and harness bar?

If you are in a class learning to weld than I would say this is boarderline ok...if you are learning to weld by yourself then this is not a project that you want to take on. Like zenki.life said it could cost you your life.
No disrespect intended, but I have been welding most of my life and I do not like to do safety equipment.

no offense, but if you're asking what kind of metal to use you're in over your head.
