Nice intake..sounds great

I just took out the baffles in the lower intake on my s14 and wow did that make a difference in sound. i really didnt notice the performance bc it is still going through one box but it sounds a lot better. i also put in a new filter. im not getting a CAI kit bc im gonna do a turbo next summer and dont want to use the money. im happy right now though.

Yes, that was an example shameless post whoring, sorry. It's very common to take the intake resonator box out, most people do it first thing after they get the car.

Guys have been removing air box baffles since 1995....usually the first thing you do on a car the night that you buy it.
Car manufacturers make it that way because the buying public would get worried about "intake noise" when driving so they place the baffle to make it silent.
Probably get 1/10 of 1 horsepower from doing it- it's more for the sound and the need to "rip something from off your car" so you feel like you've done something.
Don't fool yourself into thinking it's that big a deal- it's not- this is where the "butt dyno" comes in-> you hear the noise and then convince yourself you are making like 5-10 extra horsepower when in real life it's nothing.

dont argue with the butt dyno, it is what makes us feel we got our moneys worth in an upgrade.
