Did I get the right calipers for my big brake conversion?
Went to the junkyard today to grab a set of Maxima calipers so I can upgrade my crap *** wornout, warped brakes to JDM 180sx specs on my S13 coupe. There was a 1991 Maxima and a 1995 Maxima. I took the calipers off the 95, since they had less miles, less rust, and just were newer looking. Just to make sure they were the same as the 91, I lined them up next to them and also swapped out pads and they all fit up.
Now I am trying to order my pads and most places have applications listed for an 88-94 which leads me to believe I may have swipped the wrong calipers. So.... did I or didn't I get the right calipers? Also, what kind of pads does everyone like. I liked the EBC Greenstuffs on my Honda... real good initial bite. A buddy of mine runs Hawk pads and swears by them. Both are about the same price, so why should I pick one over the other? But here is going to be my setup. Front ------ 1995 Maxima/180SX Calipers and Brackets Maxima Pads..... brand/type??? Brembo OE Altima Rotors Russell Stainless lines Rear ----- Stock Calipers "AutoZone Performance" Metal pads Brembo OE Rotors Russell Stainless lines Also.... anyone know of a Master Cylinder brace for the 240's? I think Cusco makes some badass ones for Honda's, but not sure about Nissan's. Thanks for all the help guys. Joe
