Car dies after start-up

Couple problems im having with my s13. I just finished my sr swap and figured out my electrical problem, but, now i have a couple more...

1. Cluster lights up but no RPM. I used the same cluster from the car i pulled the motor from and it worked fine.

2. I fired up the motor and it hesitates then dies. I disconnected the MAF and it runs normal. I would assume its a bad MAF, but, like i said with my first issue, prior to pullin the motor it worked fine. I had the same issue with my ignitor but i hooked it up to my friends SR and his car started but when i pluged it into my car it doesnt want to work.

I know things go bad sometimes but how can they go bad when there not being used for a month?

The car wasn't starting. No spark to coils and the fuel pump wasn't turning on

what did you to solve it, and did you use the same harness that was used in the previous car, or did you wire up a new harness?? try anothr maf and see how it works, but if u disconnected it and it runs fine, then it's most likely the maf

If your current cluster is 89-90 S13, you need to update the Tachometer to 91-94 or JDM version. If you already did, then check into the wiring, something is not right especially the spark and fuel pump not working.
