Cant adjust ride height

ok so i have ksport coils. And i cant adjust the ride height. i can get the collars to MOVE. its just i cant get the shock tube to move in the peerch. And this is for the rears, im sure the fornt are the same way. i tryed soaking them in pb blaster and taking them off the car and putting them in a vise and they still wouldnt move. The hardest thing is that there is no where to grab the top of the coilver and turn on the rears. Anyone got some advice about this?

sure you are loosening up the right collars? i dont have ksport coils, but, on mine it isnt really hard to adjust it. the whole bottom tube turns after i loosen up the bottom collar to adjust height. good luck

yeah im loosening the bottom collar, but the shock still wont turn.

pix might help.. plus, it would give us an idea of how low your car is.. maybe it cant go lower anymore.

if it couldn't go lower it wouldn't turn....anyways, post pictures.

Cheap coils are known for having stripped threads, maybe that's what happened.

ksport really aren't that cheap of a brand, they are decent.

i dont think they are bottomed out. my fender is right on top of the tire

yeah i know, i got a good deal on these used so i bought um. i dont think they are stripped. i think that they are just seized since the guy that had um befor me diddnt ever adjust them or lube them up. so now im stuck with trying to brake them loose. i even tryed to twist the shock to raise the car first, so i could then clean the threads then lower it. But i couldnt get it to move either way.

i've had to cut a set of collars off some stance before. they are just aluminum and a hacksaw will make quick work of it.

then you can clean up all the threads and i highly recommend coating the entire threaded shock tube in anti-seize.

just make sure you source some replacement collars before you cut yours off. that's the beauty of stance, it's super easy to get parts for them.

i can move the collars, that isnt the problem. the problem is that i cant move the coilover body

hate to say it but try using some heat. thats what i do when bolts are a pita.

oh ok i see now. ok remove the coilover(s) completely from the car. throw it horizontally in a vice between some soft flat wood or something to protect it. leave the lower mount end sticking out so it will be able to turn and not be stuck in the vise. crank the vise down. smack the lower mount along where the threaded body is with a deadblow, or gently tap it with a hammer. the vibrations can help loosen the threads. stick a long, sturdy thick shank screwdriver, metal rod, or something of that nature through the lower shock mount hole to get some mechanical advantage and turn that sucker loose. worst case scenario, use a pipe wrench. all it takes is a couple threads to be mucked up to seize the lower mount on there.
