msd dis-4

has anyone installed this on their sr's? do you use stock coil packs? any performance gains? where can you get cheap aftermarket coilpacks? can you make one yourself? i tried searching and couldnt find the right answers.

Have you googled lately?
If I'm not mistaken, MSD uses the "DIS" series for distributor-driven ignitions, which means no coil packs. Then again.. I don't really know.
You can't make coil packs per say. And why would you want to? The sr comes with them, and there are a couple manufacturers for them.

ya ur right jeff, i used them on my 1999 grand prix gt which is distributorless( has coil packs). so ya u wouldnt be able to use it.

The MSD DIS-4 is for Distributorless Ignition Systems. I mean c'mon, it took me ~15 seconds to find this:

Ehh.. I hate different companies and their nomenclature.
The SR has a distributorless ignition, and uses coil packs. Bosch and I think Apexi make aftermarket coilpacks.
You tell me how you'd make a set...
And finally, if you just want coilpacks on your KA, you need a TEC II or TEC III system.
What's with you and coilpacks, anyway?
