how safe is this??

ok so im in the process of purchase a 93 coupe. It has a bent ruca but the guy said he was gonna fix it before purchase. He just hammered it straight and said it drives fine. Im really worried this is not safe. I really dont wanna tow the car home since its around 50 mils but there are some rough roads and pot holes i gotta drive through. DO you think it'll be ok or will the rucas be weakend at the area that was bent? i know the metal stretches every time u bend it or hit it. I am gonna replace asap as i get it home. Any one with input helps. If it really unsafe then im gonna ask to lower the price even more to pay for the towing

Do you have a picture? I wonder what else is fucked up if he hit something hard enough to bend the control arm. Depending how bad it is you'll probly be fine as long as you are slow and careful but I'd check it over really well before you drive it.

Depends on what the ruca is. But shit you could just buy a pair of stock rucas from someone on here.

I have a stock pair. Install that shit on and drive it home.

Done and done.

For sure, just take a jack, stock replacements, wrenches, and do it before you drive home. They are super easy to swap out. Four bolts.

well i check it out. Subframe looks good, nothing else seemed to bend, no crinkles or showing of movement in the suspension. Axles look good. Yeah i was thinking take another spare ruca and a jack and some tools. Pull over somewhere. swap it and then drive home. i need to recheck it.Ill drive it first around the block, maybe hits bumps here and there and see how it reacts.

the car was invovled in a hit n run. Original owner didnt have full coverage so he got screwed.quarter panel is done. I know im gonna have to put a new one. No biggie for me. Im a body man. The ruca was probably around 30-50 degrees on bending, Not a complete 90 bend. I might shoot lower since hes not getting back to me and after i drive it. 800 aint bad for a coupe with 75k on the motor and tranny and pretty good interior minus carpet.
