Retappinga Nismo shift knob
A friend of mine gave me a Nismo titanium shift knob- only catch, the plastic threaded insert is stripped.
Can this be fixed with a Helicoil? I've used them on metal before, but never plastic, can anyone confirm this? Or give me another trick? |

I haven't heard about Helicoil but...
I would fill hole with epoxy or something similar, let it dry then drill a hole and re-thread :] ...or do something real ghetto like putty or some ish. you could prob buy just the inserts somewhere and trim them to fit inside the knob too, just some ideas |

Try a tap first
maybe it's not that bad but if it is you can have the plastic piece pulled out and have a piece of delrin inserted, drilled and tapped if you still can't figure it out I'd give you $10 for it ![]() |
