Greedy MSS issue

let me start by saying i have an s13 with a s14 ka24de.

I seem to be having issues getting a proper reading from the coolant temp switch. I have the wire that is suposed to be spliced to the temp switched spliced in under the dash and the ground to the radio ground.

Is running it that way maybe my issue? should both those wires be wired right to the sensor that is located on the manifold like they wired up the DiF controler?

Any help would be appreciated as i cant drive the car because of this.

thanks!
