First off I'm horrible with electronics/wiring...

Anyway,my battery in my s13 keeps dying. The car will run, but as soon as it is shut off the battery dies.

The battery worked fine this summer...
I was just changing batteries to one that works, and after attaching positive, I went to attach the negative, which began sparking and crackling a bunch, consistently.

I'm guessing this is a short?
Where should i start?
