s13 S13 tire size issue

Hi,
I am a new member of this club and I have a question regarding tire size for my "90" 240.

I have search for other thread but I didn't quite found what I was looking for.
I have 17" Konig DTM with a 40 offset all around. I was wondering if a 225/45/17 tire would fit the front strut assembly. I know the rear fits no problem but the front I am not sure.
Thank you

Cheers, Stephane

Is your car lowered? If so with springs or coilovers? How wide are the rims? Not exactly sure but i think they will fit.

i would say yes no problem..

the difference is only: .8 inches in diameter...if you are really concerned...go with a 40 series..it will be identicle to stock..

You`re right. It is not a big difference diameter wise. But the 225/45/17 is 2 cm wider than stock and the strut assembly comes in at an angle. So I am not so sure. I think that I will buy 2 225/45/17 and try them on the front. If they fit great but if they rub I`le put them on the rear axle and buy 2 215/45/17 for the front.
What do you think about that method.
Thanks for the help.

I can tell you it will be very tight. They will not fit on a +43 7.5in rim. I think your plan is a smart one if you have the time.

I've got a tyre issue too

I've fitted some R32 GTR rims to my S13 (16x8") and the owner who had them before had 245/45 tyres on, and they are just slightly touching my Teins on the front and very close to the arches

Will 205/45 fit these OK ??

I have 205/40/17 at the moment on a 17X8 rim. They fit OK but my overall dimension was way to short. Thats why I am going with a 225 45 series tire. You can try out this tire calculation site to see if the overall of you're setup fits.

With 215/45 on +38 17X7 the tire was WAY close to both the stock strut and my HA's. 225's would be rather iffy, maybe a model with rounded shoulders, but I wouldn't risk it.
