Replaced your bumper supports? I need ideas!

I'm gonna replace my bumper supports and I want to see what you guys have done to yours. It's an S13 coupe, but any ideas would be great.

I'd like to have my bumper covers still fit correctly.

As often as it's done, you'd think "search" would bring up a host of responses, but it doesn't.

not sure on the question.

I had a crash bar made for the front since I crashed the last bumper support, and people wanted over 100 bucks for a new one. so for 250, I had JTP make one.

Like this?

It holds the coolers and ties both ends together for strength because the stock was cut. Just used some metal laying around the shop and made it hook onto the stock bolt mounting points so it can come on and off.

Usually the bumper is on it but it was too twisted from being in the cab to fit on that day.

Welded a nice big channel across the back side, gusseted it up, then cut out the factory front portion so my IC would clear nice. Fits like factory, imagine that, but no comment on how much protection it actually offers.

YAYYYYYY!

I have one when it was all steel being made but its not on this computer. I think it was 1" 3/4 seamless left over from a cage. Again, all bolt on so I could go back to normal blinkers and ditch the cooler if need be. Best part is, it all looks OEM with the bumper on.

EDIT: Sorry for the picture overload, will delete if needed.

Maybe I'll just hack up the rear since the bumper attaches so many places, thanks again, keep em coming!

95.5 db is the limit, plus or minus 1.5, you can have any exhaust you want as long as your within that limit. Ask the cop why he gave you a ticket, cuz it sounds loud? Ferrari is not a quiet car either does he go and pull over every Ferrari. You people need to stand up and fight for your rights. After this stupid cop pissed me off, I drive daily with 110db exhaust and rev right in front of them, I keep the state ref paper that shows my exhaust is within the limit. So until 1 day of them checks my exhaust with a meter, theres nothing they can do for now. __________________

No, you keep that piece that runs along the top, just under your hood.

I usually have a little bar welded vertically under that as a brace to hold it up.

Then it will hold up just fine.

Just make sure you dont run into anything head first without a support on, lol.

good deal, what about the rear? On my coupe (car didn't come with a rear bumper cover), it looks like the cover attaches top and bottom...I was thinking about giving it the hole saw treatment.

FWIW - hole sawing your rear bumper is a lot better in theory, than in practice....theres a lot of junk in there....
