i dont know if anyone else has had this problem, but about 6 months ago i swapped out my front turn signals as well as my sidemarkers (for the clear benz ones) and ever since then the right one would sometimes freak out and blink really fast, and the left one would stay the same. so now im bored and im trying to figure this one out...

at first i thought it was the headlights turning on that would do it (thats what caused it to do it at first), but now it does it intermittenly(sp?) so now im confused...

i think it could be:

1) a bad ground wire somewhere (because i swapped out my sidemarkers for the benz ones at the same time)?

2) or could there be a wattage/amperage(sp?) problem with one of the bulbs in either the turnsignal or sidemarker lights?

what do you all think?

its most likely #2, did you change the bulbs when you switched out the side markers and turn signals, you should make sure they are the same size and watts. I Changed mine to some hyper white bulbs but they were the same size and didn't cause any problems.

Another thing that it could mean is that one is out make sure you check them.

I am having a similar problem with my stock lighting. When the parking lights or headlights are on, my right turn signal blinks rapidly. It started out as an intermittent problem and has become more and more frequent as of late. I would be interested in any info you had on the subject Zero so don't feel like you would be wasting bandwidth or something by sticking up here.

I think I have a bad connection somewhere or a loose ground. I just don't know where or how (beyond a visual) to start. Wiring is not my strong suit. Thanks for any help you can provide.

check your bulbs to see if they are burnt out.

no the bulbs are fine, and the right one seems to be a bit dimmer than the left one, even with the bulbs swapped around...and nothing seems to be grounded to anything else...

another thing i noticed when i checked it out was that the wires on the back of the bulb were a little bit loose and when i pulled on them a little the light went out, so i pushed it back in and taped it so it cant come out again...i dont think that this could cause the bulb to get dimmer.

qick question also i came up with. when you use your turn signals do your sidemarkers flash? (mine dont, but i thought that they once did...but heh who knows)

mine right turn signal started only bliking fast when the parking and regular lights were on...just like Tubed4evr's car (are your front turn signal stock or aftermarket?) and then they progressed to get worse and worse (meaning more often, and it flashes quicker even without the parking/regular lights on)

please let us in on some more info zero.counter so that Tubed4evr and i can fix this, or you can email me at [email protected] and i can post it up for everyone...

god i need to learn how to use a multimeter, someone make a faq lol, sigh....im hopeless....

Take a look at ALL of your bulb contacts for the signal circuit, clean every signal/parking lamp bulb connection. The current flasher module is load-dependent, rapid flashing is an indication of a bulb that is not drawing enough current, a dead bulb, or a close to dead bulb. If you are using the wrong wattage bulb, that will also effect the blinking rate since the flasher is designed to work with a certain amount of load.

If you are an absolute lazy bastard, you can go to Pep Boys and purchase a solid-state flashing module.. they are 2-prong. They arent as good quality but they definately do the job and are inexpensive. BUT, since your flashing module is probably fine.. I would highly recommend making sure ALL your contacts are super strong. That *will* fix the problem.
