Question about HUD, want to verify answer - Zilvia.net Forums | Nissan 240SX (Silvia) and Z (Fairlady) Car Forum

I read around some, it's my understanding that the guage cluster itself with the digital speedo is plug and play, but to get the HUD unit to work you have to take the unit from the dash and the wiring harness that connects to it and spice it to your guage cluster wiring harness. Is this correct? I'm not really concerned with the HUD unit working, I don't have the windshield with the special unit or whatever for the HUD to display on.

If you don't have the special windshield you can buy some tint from auto parts store, cut out a little square and stick it on the windshield where the speed displays. This is alot cheaper.
