best way to find cruse controll

if you buying a car and it has a aftermarked stering wheel how do you find out if it had cruse controll at one time thanks

I think there is an extra cable in the engine bay that looks similar to a throttle cable....coming out of the driver's side firewall. Check for that.

i thought about that also it hooks up to the throtle body right

also check for the cruise control cut switch on the brake pedal.

Yep...the throttle body will have TWO cable positions on it: 1) for the gas pedal cable & 2). for the cruise control cable. Also look for the cruise control actuator - follow the 2nd cable from the throttle body BACKWARDS to a black canister type object, (usually found in the engine compartment close to the passengerside firewall). That canister type object is the Cruise Control Actuator. There are several other components you'll have to check for, (like the Brake & Clutch, (if you have one), Cut Off switches at the top of the brake & clutch pedal. But most important of all, make sure you have the "brain" / module that controls/activates the Cruise Control circuit. Look at Nissan Parts, NISMO and Nissan Accessories - Courtesyparts.com for a better idea of what's needed.

Anyhow, hope this helps....
