Talking Turbo Fitment DONE!

Ok, after a long wait. The fabricator of my pipes, fuel rail, and most importantly my exhaust manifold has finished and sent me the pics. I'm so excited! parts comming "in a week."(probably longer but I don't mind as long as its before early august)

Apprently I can keep my master cylinder and my cusco bar... ^_^

I CAN'T WAIT!!!

EDIT: sorry 'bout that

Don't know if you thought of this or not, but a heat shield between the turbo and master cylinder wouldn't be a bad idea.

I agree. All you need is turbo heat heaying your brake fluid.

You could increase airflow under the hood being inventive.
Hot engine, hot turbo, hot brakes, not cool dude.

A prefab heatshield is a good idea. Just get some sheet steel or Alumimnum.

Yes... very well said... when i had my Ka-T, there was about an inch and a half gap between the turbo and the master cylinder, it gets so hot that the resovoir started to melt a little.... i wouldnt want the MC losing pressure... and the angle of your turbo looked similar to mine, careful of your custom downpipe (assuming your using one) hitting your steering column... but anyways, good job looks clean so far... good luck with the rest keep us all updated.

Unfortunately those are pics of MY turbo and the rest of my parts in a totalled 96 se that the fabricator bought. The parts are in the mail (crosses fingers).

I have a heat shield waiting around on my dresser. The DSM injectors are 450's...

The turbo is an IHI GM4 off of a 6.5 Liter Diesel commercial vehicle. It's also a crazy science experiment to see how it works...

Oh and my girlfriend stopped calling me a poser about a month ago. I started calling 'poser-loving car humper' and that, shall-we-say, was that.

PS- Is there a break in time for a turbo? o.O

I am the Fabricator that Built the kit. I have made a downpipe for it already. I made the Downpipe in two pieces so that if he wants to upgrade to a true garrett T3T4 turbo it will be a semi bolt in deal. All that will be needed is to modify the IC pipe to fit.

The kit is 95% done. I am kinda stuck right now as my $6000+ Tig welder broke friday night. It went into the shop monday (local shop thank god) and should be back in the next day or so. I have to finish a couple of welds on one part of the downpipe, and make the turbo inlet pipe. All of the oil lines are done and the kit is a welding machine away from being finished.

It has taken a little longer than expected simply because of the distance between the customer and myself. I had to buy a car to make the kit off of. I was purchasing the car for parts anyway.

Either way the kit is almost done and I am looking forward to how that turbo is going to work. I have done some math on it and it seems to be like a large T3 based turbine side and a small T4 compressor side (great N20 turbo ) Either way if the customer doesnt like it he can bolt on a new turbo and go.

Danny
