dizzy jumping after put on TDC KADE
well i put my car on TDC and put the dizzy on CYL 1 and go to crank it wont start... i take off the cap and see it has jumped it has done a 180 degree turn... can anyone explain why..? maybe i am doin something wrong??.
p.s. car was running perfect before jsut wanted to see if it was off.. and it was. |

First of it is a distributor NOT a dizzy, this is not Honda-Tech.
It did not jump, it can not jump 180* from where it was installed. You most likely set it to TDC on the exhaust stroke, not the compression stroke. Set it to TDC, then remove the oil fill cap and look at the cam lobe for cylinder 1. Make sure it is pointing out or away from the center of the engine. Install the distributor pointing towards cylinder 1 post on the cap. Start car and set timing with a light. |
