s13 Seat swapping & fastback window emblem removing questions

These questions pertain to a 1990 manual fastback.

Question #1: What seat swaps have people seen for 240sx?

I've recently acquired my car and I'm noticing the seats just don't scream creature comfort. I know there are some cars out there that come with some really nice seats (my 2nd gen supra had lumbar support and adjustable sides to fit around you).

I don't want to get less expensive recaro's or the like because they look way to flashy/racy for me and I am hoping to maintain a more subdued look. The more expensive recaros have that look but are a bit out of my desired price range.

So what I'm wondering is what are the seats that people swap in. The search i ran came up with mostly recaro or skyline references neither of which appeal to me. Has anyone attempted or at least seen some seat swaps, I'm considering hunting down a parted out supra and looking into that as a last resort.

Question #2: Has anyone successfully removed the 240sx emblem underneat the side window on s13 fastbacks?

I did a search on this and found several posts explaining how to take of the stickers and badges around the car and some people wanting to replace the 240sx with a 180 (the suggestion was place a sticker on the outside over it).

What I'm wondering is what length would have to be undertaken to just have it removed and blacked out altogether? This is really just food for thought for me, I've seen some pic's of minimilistic 240 fastbacks here and they look really nice.

Thanks in advance for any help anyone has to offer.

seat swaps
ANYTHING
wathc your rails. 240sx aftermarket rails are NOTORIOUS for sitting too high. go w/ a Japnese company (bride, blitz specifically)

recaro, sparco, corbeau, etc will ALL sit higher then stock. due to design

side mount seat rails are the best! that is BUCKET SEAT only too.

stickers can be removed. have to remove window. it is embedded on the inside (remove window) or inthe glass. either way glass has gotta be removed.

Dousan thank you for the fast response,

Seats: The sparco's and recaro's are really nice and even there baseline models are up to the task of holding people in place. The issue I have is the overall look of the race seats is just a bit much for me. I'm wondering about stock seat swaps from other parted out car's. I'm fishing for success stories with older sports cars seats like Supra's, 300z's, RX-7's and the like.

*EDIT* I just looked up corbeau's for the first time, hehe they just might have what I'm looking for

Emblem: Yeah glass removal is the only way to go. What I'm trying to find out is it a sticker on the pillar or inside the of the glass or worse is it part of that pillar and would I have to black it out. I have no qualms taking it to a window repair service but I would like to be able to tell them what it will take vice letting them take it off and figure it out and risk hosing something up.

swapping a seat into a 240sx is a nitemare. (spelled incorrectly i know)

we have a proble with our designs. remove the driver seat and there is a 'hump' for the cat on the floor!

most cars dnt have that, so rails sit flat on floor

our car seat is alreayd raised upa bit

if you swap other seats, you'll have to do YOUR OWN custom rails to fit it.

240sx are burdened with this. but thats why i said go with Bride or Blitz rails/sliders. best way to go and a good seat of seat rails you'll never want to see. highly saught after, but most people are too cheap. (looking at near 400 for a pair of RAILS alone)

Fook! 400 smackers for rails, you get what you pay for though. While I have no qualm's parkin my butt on a seat that was rigged to fit I don't think I would feel comfortable having my loved ones sittin in a passenger seat like that. So I'm going to exhibit some patience and hunt down some of those rails when I can allot the cash for the seats AND the rails.

Thanks for the quality info dousan.

no problem. im a seat and suspension nerd.

you cn also go wedge engineering w/ your recaro rails but all they do is weld it into the inner brake and do some other mods. still sits high

check out bride rails www.tees-usa.com i think is the link
that is Bride usa

seat rails are hard to come by. i got a full set and a extra passenger one...never selling until i get my bride ones (real ones-i got some weirdo japan one hahah..it was dirt cheap 250 the pair)

just gotta hunt around and see what you can find. interior wise, seats to me are the most important with the steering wheel. go cheap get crap

also good thing to know, you can use a sparco rev bucket w/ a bride rail! bride rail is slightly larger but that's easy to fix with washter and some home depot spl

if you want the 'easier route'
i would avoid sparco, corbeau and recaro unless you can get your own rails or fab some low ones.

go with blitz or bride best bet and top quality seats that will bolt in perfect.

stock looking upgrades...

S14 seats are cheap and bolt in, no problems

S15, R32, R33, R34 seats can be had for more money. S15 bolt in with no problems. Skyline seats need to be slightly modified, one bolt hole doesn't line up.

R32-R33 GT-R seats are awesome...

S14 seats seem like a fairly doable project for me to undertake thanks.... I'm going to sift through the s14 gallery and look for some interior shots to get a better idea of what they look like.

Thanks guys

Sticking with Nissan seating, S14 are an inexpensive upgrade that are the next best thing to comfort. IF you want to go all out, Skyline GTR seats are the best, (once again, sticking with stock seating). S14 are real comfortable and ride about the same height, that would be low end comfort and the R seating would be high end for comfort. I've been in cars with both and it is a completely different and better ride than stock S13 seats. Once again.. This is with stock Nissan seats..

Well I have to admit those damn supra seats spoiled the hell out of me. I really find the S13 seats most annoying in any turn as I find myself rolling around a lot.

Just like most of the folks here I have pretty grandoise plans for my 240 but I can't implement them all at once, creature comfort however is high on the priority list I appreciate the help from y'all.

The only place i've seen GT-R seats available had them listed at 3000 dollars! Now, is it just me or is that a little ridiculous? You could have some damn fine sparco or bride seats for that much. Maybe the price was austrailian?? Has anyone else priced GT-R seats?

R32-33 GTR seats should be $500-$700 each. That's a sh!tload when you consider thy are used and still don't hold like some real good aftermarket seats (Much better than any reclining Sparcos though). R34 GTR seats are insanely xpensive. They are more expensive than Brix (in Japan) so i can imagine how much they run here ($1k+ per seat would not be unlikely) again, RAREity of the seat=fxxxxking stoooooooopid prices.

on a side note, am i the only one that lies the S13 seats more than S14? Drifting stock S14's vs. stock S13's, the S13 was much more controllable, lighter, faster, and HELD BETTER! I think the S14 seats are more comfortable, but theyare wayy overrated on thir holding abilities.

I luv my S14 seats. They only cost $50 for the pair from the junkyard.

In fact, I think i'm going to modify them to give more support in the front, and maybe on the sides too.

One thing you might want to look into for aftermarket seats is modifying the stock rails to attack to the aftermarket seats. It involves some ingenuity but I've seen it done with the Sparcos and I sat in them and the height was perfect.

Yes, better than the Torino 2. IMO those are made for civics and Integras looking for show points or a Street Racer feel. They hold like sh_t. (again, imo.) Only reclinable seat I like is a Brix. Other than that, buckets intigue me the most.

well, what seats are comfortable enough for daily driving, but grippy enough to hold me during autocross and drifting? sparco sprint or speed?

Haha, imo Brix. Depend on your tolerance level. None of the reclining Sparcos I have seen ever made me consider purchasing them. Their bucket seats on the other hand.... Can you daily drive with a bucket? Many of my friends do. Thye have no complaints. Again, tolerance level? Myabe stock S14 seats will do the trick, or even S13 seats. GTR seats certainly will, but they are so much $$ for used sometimes trashed seats. How much drifting will you be doing?
