My car turns off now but dash lights don't!

OK the SR is running full steam now. All leaks are fixed and its running correctly. I have a ground wire coming up through the wire loom on the passenger side near the altenator grounded to the body. I have the Battery grounded on the engine. But when I turn the car off the brake light goes on and stereo stays on. Even with the key out off the ignition! Do I still have ground problem?

Thanks
Dan

Is this an aftermarket stereo?? You could fix this by switching the power wire going into the stereo.

I fixed it by removing a 10a fuse in the battery side fuse box label ENG. CONT. Hopefully this doesn't wreck anything!
