i just recently switched over from filling up with Premium gas to Regular gas,.. thing is ive done this a few times before, but the 'check' light never popped on b4....im thinkin its not the prob but could it be?  <img src="http://www.zilvia.net/f/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/eh.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt=':eh:'> (my ride's a 97 240sx le)

Then my friend told me sumthin like if u turn on and off the car 50 times, the light goes away,..heard bout this too?

check what???  the brake light? oil light? engine light? seatbelt light?  wish i could help you if i knew what you were talking about...

If it's the check engine light, it means there's a problem your ECU picked up. Could be due to your gas, could be something else. Personally, I wouldn't risk it and go get it checked out.

sorry if i wasnt 2 clear...its the yellow light that says 'check' inside the picture of the water tap-looking thing.  I just dont get it happening before and it just going away.

Actually u wont get a mil from runnin low octane gas unless its really low octane gas.Where did u get it from. Amoco,Mobil.
What you might wanna check is your gas cap rubber seal, they go bad sometimes and it throws of a mil because of the evap obdII bs.
Get a manual and read the code its fairly easy.
Get some redline injector cleaner it might help if it was bad gas...

thanks daywalker! but i hear ppl talking bout reading the codes, just how exactly do u do that? hope u dont have 2 get in the ECU.. and if its a flashing pattern, the check light just stays on 24/7 with no pattern or anything.

you take the ecu out its behind the passanger side plastic panel under the glove box right next to the door.
when you take out the ecu u need to find a little screw on it.
next i think twist it counterclockwise and now it will flash out the code, but u need the manual for this

this just happened,, same thing.. that damn water spout tranny diff looking thing.. umm did u ever figure out what was causing this? if so, please let me know! thanks!
