SR is having trouble starting after rebuild, give me an idea why.

ARG. Aggravating past couple of days. So, I bought a car that had an SR in it that was KNOWN to run for years before it got rod knock. It was originally an Automatic with HICAS and ABS, that was converted to manual, long before I purchased it.

I bought it, pulled the motor, pulled the ABS, pulled the HICAS, rebuilt the motor, threw that shit back it, plugged everything up essentially the way it was before, and now it's not starting.

The first issue I had was the starter not turning over when I turned the key, but it was getting power, just not a signal to do anything with the power, so I wired up a switch to the starter, and tried to start the car.

The starter spins the motor over, but It will not start.

-Checked for spark, Got it, yellowish in color.
-Checked that the injectors were firing, yes,
-Pulled the fuel rail just to check, and all the injectors are firing at the exact same time. Should this be happening?
-Checked timing and restabbed CAS.

Right now I'm thinking that it might be flooded from me trying to start it too much with maybe having a plug wrong or something, so I'm letting it air out, and pushing the fuel out, going to give it a try again here in a while.

In the mean time, anyone have any ideas?

It's not the first Motorswap or rebuild I've done, I've always ran into problems, but this one seems to baffle me. lol Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks guys.

Anyone?

I put more fuel in the tank, replaced the ignitor AND the CAS with KNOWN working ones, I checked to make sure all the spark plugs were firing. I've checked Timing a million and 12 times. I'm at a complete loss. I'm dunmfounded. For once in my life I have no clue where to go.

In my experience on consulting and builds the last 10 years, the SR motors or any other Nissan for that matter is that it's usually the wiring harness, or some shotty connection. My no.1 recommendation if you have a single doubt in your harness quality pay the money to replace it with a fresh oem one

Alrighty Steve, I'll try a couple more things, and if that doesn't work, I'll grab a new OEM one and start from sctrach.

Thanks bud.
