Compressor question - Painting and general use

So im looking to buy a decent compressor for garage painting, and general power tool use.

Wondering if this is a good deal and can hold up for a single coat at a time for painting. And just overall good gun, wrench, and rachet?

I got a craftsman 30 gallon 1.6 from sears for 186 bucks. It works great for hobby work paint... But if your going to be using it for long period of time u need a high horsepower one. For the air guns u only really need 2 or 3.. Ingersoll guns are top notch.. My buddie has a 3/8 gun titanium series. Brakes loose about pretty much everything. As far as paint gun they would suck, u would get orange peel like crazy. But if u don't care , hey go for it

For painting a car they recommend at least a 60 gallon

yea but you could get one of those air constrictor/resistor things that controlls the flow rate i have one on my craftsmen so you can reduce the pressure if your painting or raise it when your breaking something loose

the CFM is more important than the tank volume for painting. If you use a hvlp gun you don't need a lot of power, less than you would to run other tools actually.

I have a 26 gal/4cfm if i recall. Great for general use, and painting. Could theoretically paint continuously. I know i have done bumpers and shit with no issue.
