Gas is slowly leaking from my gas tank area. could this be why my car bogs when I give it a lot of gas?

it could be if its leaking from the fuel feed line.

you should really get that fixed

OK. yea im trying to. I just havnt got it on a jack yet to see exactly where its dripping from.
