Exclamation 2003 NHRA US Nationals

Did anyone go to this years US Nationals in Indy? I did, I left my house around 9 a.m. Saturday morning and got up to Indy around 10 a.m. we hit no traffic going there at all, which was good, so we didnt have to sit in traffic for half the morning. Going up there, walking around going from pit area to pit area(most of the pros had at least 2 truck and trailers, and some had 3, 2 for the cars and parts, and one more for
cooking food for their crew), watching the pros, and hearing the Top Fuel and Funny Cars going down the track spewwing
flames all the way down is unbelieveable. I took pics, 4 rolls to be exact and Ill post pics once i get them developed. I had my pic taken with Larry Dixon and another one with Dean Skuza and Cameron Evans from Popular Hot
Rodding. So I was happy. There is so much stuff that goes on duriong races and in between races, like checking the track for any liquids and parts, walking
around seeing all the products Manufactor bring to the event, interviews, etc... Fire works after the last car makes the pass down the track, and you dont get to see any of this if you watch it on the tube, since ESPN and
any one who covers the event, only want to get the racing portions. This is definitly a event that you need to go in
person. Im definitally going next year

it's quite an experience. i liked watching them tear down the motors and put everything back together in 75 minutes, just enough time for the next race. when they go down the track, you can't even see for a few seconds because they vibrate everything so badly. by the time you can see again, they're gone! i was pretty close to the pit though, when I went.
