So, I've done my research and came up empty handed, hoping someone can share some insight or knowledge on what happened to my welded diff.
I managed to install it yesterday, Everything seems to work fine and once installed I can notice the tires moving at the same time. I decided to take it around the block and as I downshifted and made a turn (not to drift it just to make a turn) I hear a loud pop. Now every time I let the car decelerate it makes a very loud clacking noise and when I put my car in reverse it doesn't grab it just sounds like metal on metal and the car stays stationary. Any ideas on what Could have happened? The welds I could imagine are still good because the tires still spin at the same time, Maybe I missed something in the procedure? I had to remove the open diff and install the welded like I were installing a s15 lsd, Maybe I missed putting something back in?
Any insight or just ideas would be greatly apprecaited. Thanks again guys.

Your gonna have to take of off the car anyways, and when you do, i bet you answer your own question.

BTW, I would not drive that thing an inch.

agreed^^ if you know theres a problem you might as well take the diff off and check for yourself.

Yeah I know there is a problem and and trust me the car is not moving. the Diff will be off today I was just curious as to if anyone has come across the same situation or problem.
I'm pretty sure the welds are good since even when it was messed up like that both wheels were moving and when turning at low speeds I could here it chirp on the ground. I'll take it apart tonight and Hopefully have some answers.

I had something similar happen. When I pulled the diff this is what I found.

Those go on the outside of the diff bro, lol

How did you weld it too?
When I did mine 5 years ago, I just had the 8 points welded.

I think people run into more problems when they start putting things in the gears and welding them on.
Bolts or plates.
Everything that rotates on your car is designed with specific balance so it can spin at high speeds.
When you put extra shit on the outside, it messes up the cyntrifical balance, and adds more stress.
And stress's are what breaks anything.

Yup, I had just the 8 point's welded as well, lasted me like 2 years?

Didn't break, just upgraded lol

It is an 8 point weld as well with no extra bolts or additives to make the weld stronger.
Something is telling me the ring gear thats on the diff itself is not aligned and every time the car decelerates it is touching some other metal, and when I try and put it in reverse the its not lined up.

I bought a car with a welded and this same thing happened to me...the ring gear bolts came loose and punched a hole in the aluminum diff cover.

I will never trust a diff that someone else welds/installs. Ive done this mod many times over and I always use red locktight on the ring gear bolts and torque to FSM specs. Never had a problem.

I believe your diff is in my car now? I got it thru rob.
Who ever did the weld did a fkn incredible job, plated and everything.

To me, it sounds like you didn't put the carrier bearing spacers back in the correct spot. And the metal-on-metal sound you're hearing is the pinion gear slipping by the ring gear. That's why it happens mostly on deceleration and reverse, but not so much forward.
