Chattery Spec Stage 3??

i have a spec stage 3 6 puck on my care, and i hear the stories of them blowing up and what not. yesterday i rebolted my exhaust to the transmission shock mount and i noticed i could feel the clutch engaging and disengaging through the sloor board, i mean like with "thuds"

the clutch hasnt started slipping, so i know its not the pressure plate bolts backing out, is anyone elses spec clutch like this?

Hey Evils14, I didn't know you were using a spec Stage III... I'm actually about to pick one up (for my stock KA)! How do you like it so far? How are pedal feel and bite? Does it slip well (relatively easy to feather) or is it pretty much an exclusively on/off bite?

How's the car been in general? Any Drift events out there yet?

I'll field this one, since I have a KA-T and spec S3 clutch. It's a good pedal feel, and horrendiously strong bite, which makes it pretty much exclusively on/off, and very, very hard to feather.
On a side note, my clutch does chatter on engagement, and I don't know why.

uhh adey you dont have to adress me by my screen name, i thought after dd5 we were on a first name basis brother

i agree with jeff, the stage 3 is ery grabby, in fact when i got in my car for the first time after the install , i killed it 4 times in reverse

there has been no drift events here in indy, although im sure we will be since everyone is drift crazy, its really annoying, everyone is selling their hondas and buying s13s :hammer:

haha, I would have, but I know some of us are touchy about internet privacy; it's always "safer" to use handles/screennames rather than real names. right? No matter.
Thanks for the heads up re: the clutch... I'm not really sure it's what I'm looking for, but considering the 240 is my "track car" I think I can afford a somewhat stiffer bite.

Thanks jeff, for your opinions as well!

I guess it kinda sucks for daily driving, eh? ... sucks to be me!

edit: Jeff, if your clutch is chattery but Jason's isn't, it probably means that the shop you brought it to didn't resurface your flywheel -- that, or it did a shoddy resurfacing job. Just a heads up... if it was indeed poor resurfacing, you may expect it to only get worse, eventually requiring a new flywheel. (afaik)

mine makes noise on deceleration, and i resurfaced my flywheel, not chattery on takeoff though. the chatter was just my turbo hitting my brake MC

but daily driving on the stage 3 isnt too bad, but its gonna suck when the snow drops
