'95 has OBDl ECU and the '96 has OBDll ECU. The '96 apparently has quite a bit higher miles. How much is each selling for? Are they both SE (or both non-SE)--are they both auto? or both 5-speed? Hard to compare them. What about the colors/conditions, etc?

BTW, my favorite ice cream sundae costs $1.99+tax from Braums

The 95' costs $$5100 and the 96'costs $$4700. Color & tranny does not matter to me, but in this case lets say they are both manual, se's..

and one more question: Will the fenders, front bumper & head lights from the 97-98 240sx bolt right on to the 95-96 240sx??

Sounds like you are looking for a car to make some "conversions" to, so I suggest you get both of em up on a lift and check out the frames. I'd go for the one that has less damage. Many 240's have been wrecked by previous owners, keep that in mind, choose wisely!

And yes, the 97-98 front end can be bolted onto the older style body. You also need the hood and bumper support, along with a few other things I have honestly probably forgotten. (I'm zenki for life)

is there much of a difference between the OBDI and OBDII ECU's, i have heard that the OBDI's are more preferable to the OBDII's?

yeah they are easier to mod...less emissions crap..if you were going KAT and wanted to go with JWT for ECU tuning you would need an OBDI...but with the prevalence of SR20 swaps it's a rather mute point...

My 95 is also OBD2

I would think it most likely to be OBD2

Its not worth the cash to swap faces... just get a 97-98 if thats the look you want.. newer car too.

At some point in the 95's production the switched from obdI to obdII I don't know whether it was early or late in the year though.

middle of production - 1/95

federal mandate stated that all vehicle produced (starting in 1995) had to have OBDII)
vehicles produced 6/94-12/94 (still '95 model year) were OBDI

95 240sx 8/94 build.... With OBDII (shrug)

Why do you need to get rid of OBDII? You can turbo fine with it...

Anyways in Orgon/Washington... I know they plug into your OBDII to smog you... I think it would go over bad if you took it out and they wanted to do that... You still need to think about leagal issues in anything you change... It could be costly...

Ooooh, no, nevermind Red. Just misunderstood your last post. Heh, yah right take out the ECU, 'specially since i'm from CA where the emissions regs are the worst.
