^ I am going to wait a week or two before I even ask about anything. I'm sure they are getting a lot of questions like that right now- I don't really feel like it is right to ask just days after all of this has happened. It still just feels too selfish...

I don't think asking the US Distributors (Like Mackin Industries) for some information in a couple of weeks will be unreasonable, though. I just want them to have time to sort through all of this- I can't imagine what companies are going through- both at work and in their personal lives.

well, it'll depend on where the factory is... and also the fact that Tokyo is most likely where it WOULD have been shipped from.

Toyko Harbor, i'm sure, is completely offline currently...

This is, after all, the 5th biggest recorded earthquake event since humans started recording earthquakes.

Japan is now 2.5 Meters displaced, the EARTH is 10cm off axis.

I think your parts can wait....

sorry if i'm being a dick... but this is the reality.

Did any of you guys see the pictures of the hundreds of containers all gathered up sitting around, upsidedown, on their sides, piled up? The first thing I thought was holy shit, that is alot of power, then I thought, I wonder what is in there? And thought of all the people that ordered parts from Japan now they are all messed up , lost and mixed up. I hope they get stuff fixed, and get back on track, I cant see Japan sitting around waiting for other people to fix it, but I know they will get it fixed asap.

They already started repairing Ibisu circuit.

I had a feeling that Would come out wrong.
Look I totally agree...my question was if WORK japan was in the middle of this as far as location.
$2500 in wheels is No Chump change so I just hope My Transaction is Not lost...because I'm sure its a damn spaghetti Mess around that Whole Country.

I worry also that Some of the Smaller Japanese Parts Companys will go out of Business after this.

Yeah I've got a order for some items and I'm not sweating it right now. They will get here when they get here. I'm sure manufactures have more things to worry about then me getting product.

^ For sure, that is really the only way to look at it right now. It feels way too selfish to be thinking about wheels and stuff at the moment.

Im actually in Japan at the moment, and the majority of the damage, if not all of it was a couple hours from Tokyo.. The damage was all along the coast. The tsunami went as far inland as 6 miles.. I can understand parts from Japan are not cheap, but Japan has been turned completely upside down this past weekend.. We have experienced the 5th largest quake in the history of the WORLD in recorded history, and then you've all seen the wake of the tsunami.. Now there are NUCLEAR reactors with exposed rods.. Think about that for a minute.. Not to mention the valcano that blew up today.. So Japan has alot more to worry about then some JDM parts.. Peoples lives, alot of heirlooms, and just plain history has been lost in this tragic event.. Get over it parts will get to you when they do.. In time if youre orders were lost, the distributors will take care of things.. Be patient and compassionate considering the circumstances... end of rant

What happened at ebisu? I know its in the Fukushima perfecture, but how much damage is there?

Of all countries, i wouldn't doubt to know that the japanese are on top of their shit right now. Of course they have to worry about getting their reactors in check and repaired prior to tending to lives - because that is a far greater threat - but once all that is taken care of they'll be getting better. My only concern is how long it will take for them to be back in line with the rest of the world, I know theyre getting a lot of help but shit, rebuilding 1/2 a country is hard

There is actually an interesting read on nori yaro about the reactor situation.

Some professor from MIT did an article, and he says the media is blowing that part out of proportion, and that its not as bad as the media is making it out to be.

Like I said, I totally agree for sure. Well said.

I was actually just chatting with Brian from Mackin Industries via Email, and he told me that everything is ok at Rays since they are located on the Southern end of the country (Osaka, if I am not mistaken). He said everything there is currently up and running & on schedule, which is honestly amazing right now.

Now shipping, on the other hand, is probably another story. Not a big deal to me at all right now, but I thought I would post up that info.
