Paint Paint Paint
So I found out that I can now use the schools spray room!
+ I also found out that my new bumper is comming in a few weeks! + I can prep my own bumper = I can spray my own new bumper!!! The only problem I ran into was WHERE do I buy some nice emerald green zenki paint? o.O Would it be cheaper to have it matched or buy it from the dealer? I'll go search for that color code now....

its impossible to match. the dealer paint won't work either b/c of color fade on the car. a decent paint shop will at BEST get you a close approximation. trust me... emerald blue is not a fun color to have.

What everyone else said
![]() All you need to do is go to the nissan dealership, get the paint code for your emerald green or whatever, then go to ur school bodyshop, or VoTech class, and ask you teacher/instructor what to do to match aged paint. he'll show ya some thinkgs to help it match a whole lot better. just be very carefull and take ur time. have fun |

and i suppose you've actually tried to match emerald blue then? i have a 1995 240sx emerald blue and i can tell you from first hand experience that this color is a pain in the ass to match. many stores do not even have this color code in their database as it was only offered on the 95-96 model. i know someone who actually did exactly what you just suggested. the result? a two tone 240sx. granted it wasn't a horrible job but the color is just too subtle a mix of green and blue. it doesn't help that it seems to be different colors in different lights at different angles. so sometimes it will look like it matches dead on, while other times it will look just plain wrong.
anyway color chart is here : http://socal240sx.org/faq/colorchart.html and the color code is fn2 "Blue Emerald." i'm not telling maeda not to try it or give up on figuring some way to match it. i'm just saying its going to be hard. if he figures out a good way to match the color i'll be the first one congratulating him and asking how he did it. |

you aint gonna get a good color match it always gonna be darker or lighter, heavy flakes or light flakes I usually blend on to the next panel to make it look right. When Im done you cant tell that this half of the car is a diffrent shade from the other half. Good Luck

I was reading all of this and figured that I will just paint it myself and mismatch it.
I can deal with a little darker or lighter shade of emerald blue. I'll probably crack it in some touge accident anyway. =p Although... I hope not!

good luck with panel painting, if it was my car I would blend the fenders.Even if the color is off you can hide it in the fenders. If you never painted metallic colors it can b tough ,get some help.Avoid a big mess.
