WTF is this that isn't connected?

I started to clean my engine bay and noticed this wire coming through the firewall into the engine bay. At first glance it looked like something the previous owner installed but then the connection makes me think it is OEM, so I dunno. Whatever it is, it looks like it was headed towards the battery so maybe a power wire for something? Also coming out of the firewall it is two wires (red and black) then mates into one.

That's not OEM. Only you can figure out what it goes to.

Small questions here vvvvv

probably for some stupid custom lights or something since it does have a fuse in it. trace it back to the source.

Looks like for a stereo (amp or something). Buy a new fuel filter. Thing looks old as shit.
