An SR will run fine with the BOV vented to the atmosphere, but you will run wicked rich off throttle. My exhaust tip is black even on the outside within a week of cleaning it.

I bought the recirc. kit for my HKS SSQV, but I have been to lazy to put it in...

it will run rich off throttle and youll have slight idle problems... that and the occasional backfire...thats when its vented to atmosphere... when its recirculated it will idle fine, run less rich, and the blow off sound will be quieter...

i just recently changed my HKS for a Apexi Twin Chamber, and seriously in my all honest opinion, i love the Apexi more than the HKS... nice sound, doesnt leak (adjustable) and sounds plain mean...
the BOV you want is strictly up to you.. its all personal preference...
alot of people on this board run the HKS SSQV and love it...
if you want a BOV cuz of the sound then go Greddy type S... sweet *ss sound...

s13silady so as not to confuse drpimper ( i love that sn) you had the older HKS BOV, right? Not the SSQV? The SSQV is adjustable but not like a normal BOV, the adjustment changes the bias between the two valves in the BOV. I haven't had a problem with mine.

the HKS SSQV doesn't tend to leak at idle like standard poppet valves too, so you don't have the idle problems and such usually associated with a VTA blowoff valve. the only adverse effect is going rich between shifts.

so what's so CHEAP about the SR swap again?

well since im gunna recirculate it, to save from problems. what bov's can u do it with. or can u do it with any. i have never had a turbo so im new to this kinda of sh*t. i was talking to a friend that builds honda motor's and he was recommending the greddy type s. i want what will be best and not for just sound. sound is good but performance come first.

I've run both Blitz DD and HKS SSQV, both open atmosphere. DD always leaks at idle and even under boost sometimes..hated driving my car cuz it backfired like crazy every ten minutes. With the HKS SSQV it has NEVER leaked or backfired since i've owned it.
