high flow cat

If I replace my cat w/ a test pipe it will make my exhaust louder, won't it?

Does anyone know where to buy high flow cats w/ flanges?

Cheapest place I know of with pre welded flanges for the 240 is heavythrottle.com You could also try one of the ebay direct fit hi-flo cats but I wouldn't.

To answer your question removing the cat will defenitely make your car sound louder. Probably not a good loud though.

exhausts w/out cats sound like ass and are really bad for the environment(we all have to do our part). Cats really aern't that restrictive, if you do anything get a high flo cat, or if you don't have the money, just get a y pipe so you aren't always running w/ no cat.

It won't necessarily make your exhaust more loud. With a straight pipe in place of the catalytic converter, there will be a hollow buzzing sound emitted. I believe it's caused by the back pressure vibrating inside the straight pipe. It doesn't sound that great, actually, it's quite ricey in my opinion. I only notice that sound at around 3,000 rpms when I let off the gas pedal.

With the straight pipe, I've noticed a tremendous difference in performance. The car revs up a lot easier because the straight pipe uncorked all the exhaust gas flow. It's amazing how a simple 2 1/4 inch wide 18 inch long pipe does for my car.

I haven't yet put a test pipe on my SR 240, but I had one on my supercharged prelude, and I couldn't believe how much my exhaust smelled afterwards. You can really tell that those things help with pollution. Even just sitting at stoplights just about made me sick sometimes.
