Street Racing is stupid.

I had to download the movie onto my computer to get it to work.

Three lessons:
1) Street races are SO lame.
2) Domestic cars are even MORE lame.
3) Female driver.

As long as there are no other people around, street racing is fine.

well first off, yeah street racing isnt the safest thing to do...but man when you cant maintain control of your car in a drag race for even 4 seconds than you shouldnt be driving anyway..nothing against female drivers or domestics, but that was just pathetic...i am in no way deterred from street racing from seeing that clip...now if it had been say a few cars weaving through traffic and something like that happened i would probably have seriously stopped weaving through traffic.

but, its nice to see that alot of you are still concerned about safety and not just all out speed and sh*t.

u know, great lakes dragway in WI has street racing nites....better off to play there than at actual streets. at least there's a bit of a controlled environment. half the steet races downtown i use to go to, the people don't even know where the finish line is...kinda stoopid if you ask me, that's why we usually pile into an suv to keep us from getting tempted to run an dan easy cover from cops.

some of us are busy spending our money making our cars faster instead of stuff like paying $25 to get onto a track. and the closest circuit track to me is over 100 miles and costs $20 per lap.

That was horrible. The sad thing is that I expect it is a regular occurrance each night. You can't say much else other than it IS dangerous to participate OR spectate no matter what any of you say. Once the "red mist" comes down and the "immortality" thing kicks in, even the best drivers make mistakes sometimes. Schumacher crashes once in a while as do all top race car drivers so we are no different to them in that respect. Just hope nobody was badly hurt in that crash.

I beleive common sense should dictate my actions, with that being said I street race when I feel it is safe. What I mean by that is no few dozen spectators crowding a small road in the middle of the night. Now at a nice strip of road with room for accidents or a few miles of highway with no other traffic I'll continue to put my car and my skills to the test.

Didn't bother with the video, I just hope that no innocents were involved - but I think the best thing a street racer can do is drive their car headlong into a bridge abuttment at speed... at least that way you don't put me in danger with your lack of control and irresponsibility. One less idiot driver to worry about...

Street racing sometimes is good sometimes it isn't. Meets are pretty good I say because you meet people that have the same interst in import tuning. But sometimes people that want to look cool show up in meets and street races and start acting like as if they were in a gang and start pissing everyone off.

Also risk factors are high such as getting your car impounded and having a ticket, license suspended, or having a night at the big house. of course there are the other dangers of crashes, cars losing control, fliping over, etc. but most people that go dont care and just do it for the money or the rush.

i have seen many accidents in a street race and some not very pretty. i go to meets once in a while but less and less now. its better on a track which all dangers are at a minimal.

i have a theory of what he did. or she. IT stalled, got embarrassed and dumped the clutch. ever drive your first manual trans car, pull up next to some cool guys, then take off at the green (maybe not even racing) then stall? you start it back up and rev to 7000 and dump the clutch to show them it's not a bucket you're driving. i know everyone has done this. get pissed off because you stalled and then try and take it out on the car. i believe that's what happened here.

my friend used to do that with his Z, and it was his first manual he was driving. unexperienced driver + 300 horsepower + already bald tires + stalling the car + getting mad = dirty drawers from the passenger at ever stoplight... god that would scare me because he'd get so mad and smoke the tires and shift into second.
