there is this one 97 civic ex that i could never beat. he just has headers and everything else stock. and i have i/h/e regular bolt ons. i also need rear shock. does that really matter to get a good take off? how i know i need new shocks is because when i hit a bump then gas it there rear just jumps and is all over the place. sometimes that happend when i wanna peel out. so wut could i do to beat him? oh yeah he does this one thing that always beats me. whenever he gets close to red line he lets go of the gas then pushes down the cluch and lets go then gases it again for like 3 times. he always picks up speed doing that. thats bad for the tranny right?

uhm...theres no way an almost stock civic is beating you when you have i/h/e unless there's something wrong with your engine or youre shifting bad...maybe he's just a really good shifter...otherwise you should be slamming him

i don't exactly get what you mean by clutching @ redline and let go gas and get on gas again.... do you mean he revs up his engine before he goes into the next gear? i know it's bad for the clutch, but dosn't the help big time on the accleration of the next gear? i do it...

dude.. pathetic.. sounds like you need some more practice with that stick.. If your afraid to hurt something in your transmission, you shouldn't be racing.

Not to be harsh.. Just saying, driving fast is hard on a car. Things break, and engine/drivetrain life is shortened. Sometimes you really gotta tear into a clutch to get that #### honda that keeps fuckin you up.

Nevermind the headers, are you sure your friend is still sporting a D-series engine under the hood?

Replace your shocks, then race him. It sounds like you loosing contact with the ground in pushing the gas. I'll be you're losing because of that lack of control on your drive wheels.

we didnt break in because he beat me in a race. it was because he messed up my friends car and he wanted to get even. also he left his doors unlocked. and i am positive he has a d series motor and no turbo

your rear end is doing that because you probably broke your rear end mound, i should know it happened to mine and when i got on it the rear end would shimmy.
