economy sucks, i see all my old friends doing the same thing. im in shape i get to tak emy body to push my body to the limit i get leadership, i do crazy training noone even ever thought of get to defend the country when deployed for sure gonna have pay for 4 yrs and not worry about getting laid off, i like the discipline. i like traveling i mean if i never joined i would of never gone to AZ, NC, NY, Germany, Afgan, who knows where ill go if i sighn again.

sounds like you already made the decision! if you dont have a degree yet then you would be stupid to get out. Yea you have the gi bill but you can save that for your kids or wife and just go for free while your in. You can always go to a different branch if you want to try something new. You can pm me if you have any questions about the Air Force. We have PJ, Combat Control, Tac P if you want a combat type job still!!!

i thought i would have to wait 6 months in order to join air force from marines thats what i heard

yea you have to have a dd214 to qualify. you would be rolling the dice, but as long as you meet the qualifications for the air force theres really no issues. we always need spec ops so if you can pass the P.A.S.T test(spec ops pt test) then you will be good. We ALWAYS have openings in those.

Or join the AF to learn a job that is useful after you get out other then working for Academi.

Well, Im not in the military nor do I know much about it, but if you dont go back do you have a plan? A job waiting? Are you gonna go to school? Will you have Benefits (medical, dental, etc)? Is it a safe decision for you? You know, with how things are going with Iran and all..

Just weigh out the pors and cons, talk with your loved ones and a decision should come alpong way.. Whatever you decide, Good luck

It all depends what your plan is when you get out, because you need to have a plan.

If that plan is staying in your parents basement, collecting unemployment and using your GI Bill, and doing nothing but playing video games..... stay in.

I was a grunt though, and Ive noticed that different MOS's tend to have different experiences in the Corps...

True I did start school while I'm in as of now but I was thinking what is 20 yrs I already did 4 if I can just stick it out and retire then get a job when I get out and still have free med and dental plus a check. I'm still single and the only plans I had was be a state trooper for TX or go back to the oil rig

just stay in if you dont already have a plan. i had a plan, and made a ton of money working overseas

shit, thats one of the main reasons im enlisting. i want a career in law enforcement but theres no way in hell i'll get picked up by a department with a 2-job resume. the way thats going, i might as well hold off on the academy until im 30.

that, and theres waaaaaay too many people trying for those job. the only way to get an edge on them is with a military background.

I would stay in and go to school while you are in.

GI bill is sweet but you get free schooling right now. Come out with a degree, full retirement, friends that will always have your back, and a life time of stories to tell your friends and family.

I made the mistake of getting out, and miss it everyday. Don't get me wrong going to school using the GI bill is nice, and being able to do whatever I want rock. But damn I miss the military.

I think you should stay if you do not have a plan A, B, or C yet prior to discharge.

My suggestion would be to finish you B.A. of sorts while in and then get out and go get your M.A. if you're interested in that.

Sometimes I wished I had stayed in, but most of the times I like being a civilian.
