Heater Core Control Valve Delete?

Is it possible to remove this control valve, and block off that pinhole where the rod comes out?

yes it is possible, but the heater core will always be hot, that would suck in the summer or during hot days.

why would you want to remove that? You still have heat with it as long as its open

Did you not take that pic? Looks open to me. Just take it off and clean it out and out some lub on the hinge and put it back in so it works properly

I disconnected the heater hoses and ran water through both sides. No blockage either way, so its not the control valve.i also disconnected the top and lower heater hose while the car was running and coolant was running through the heater core so its not air locked. Now I'm really stumped. You can hear the blend door moving and hear the sound difference. But the temp stays the same.
