s13 89 Auto -> Manual Swap Info

I'm just finishing (hopefully) the installation of a 89 manual transmission into what was once my 89 auto 240. I plan to put some info in here that may be of use. FYI there is a helpful VFAQ on 240sx.org under Technical.

One thing to note is that it IS IMO just easier to cut your brake pedal. I pulled my pedal when I tried to install a JDM brake pedal [which does NOT fit ] and ended up cutting mine. I just used the JDM pad as a template.

To actually get your car to start, you need to connect the thick black wire and the thick black wire from the start inhibitor harness (9 wire harness that comes off the pass side of the auto tranny). I plan to see if I can connect those two wires to the two wires on the neutral switch of the manual transmission. If not, I'll just connect them closer to the fuse box.

I also want to see if I can use wires from the same group for the reverse lights.

The speed sensor plugs are the same.

I'll add more later.

I also am in the middle of a 5 speed install in my 92 Convert and I too cut the Brake Pedal. I successfully removed it from the stick donor car only after abusing the Brake Master Cylinder out of the way by bending the lines. I didn't want to do that to the 'vert.

The trans is in and I hope to tackle wiring issues this weekend.

Young man, did you post previously that besides starter-interlock questions you also bumped into the Top Motor lockout?

And what about Cruise, will I still have it?
