Noob Question about Overfenders
I have been searching for a little bit on this forum and can't find the answer to my question, it is late here and I can't call any sellers right now but I am trying to find out if the overfenders you buy from dealers would replace the existing metal fenders from the factory or do they somehow bolt or mount to the existing fenders?
Sorry for the Noob question, just started looking into this tonight and had this question! Thanks Rob |

it depends on the brand how much the overfender will cover and how well. most writeups i've seen involve using rivets to attach them. i've looked into overs as well and the word of mouth recommendations seem to have chargespeed and origin as the top picks in terms of fitment and quality. but they are also more $$$

And if you put the 30mm overs in the front what kind of wheel fitment does that give you as a result? What about the rears, I have seen as high as 50mm overs in the rear.

You can expect immediate results for the front fitment since, as previously stated, aftermarket fenders will replace the factory ones.
The rear is a different story, there is an involved process of cutting, welding, and sealing the factory metal on the rear quarter panels to allow you to take advantage of the extra room provided by aftermarket rear overfenders. There are threads involving this process done properly that you should look at, but be sure that you are capable before you start this almost irreversible and possibly damaging modification to your car. Check out the wheel fitment whore thread to see what size wheels/offsets you will need to make this style look good. And also to see how great a car can look on stock metal fenders as well. Good luck!
