hey just got a rhd s13 with a sr20det black top

had a srt4 so this is way different


1st question: why does the sr20det sound almost like if it had lifter problems? i have searched n searched and even on vids they sound like that people say is normal?


2nd question: what oil and oil filter and spark plugs do i use on it? (that i can buy at autozone, advance auto parts)

3rd question: i heard theres parts from other motors that are compatable with ours, so i been thinking what happens if somday the alternator goes bad? or the starter motor? can i find a replacement at autozone? or do i have to park the car for a week+ waiting for the part to be deliver?

4th question: on the srt4 i had to run 1k+ injectors and 2 fuel pumps with -8 fuel lines to make 450-520 on e85, i heard i can get close to does numbers with a walbro, 750cc witht he sr20?

- Probably has air in the hydraulic lifters. You can pop them out and bleed them to get air out. Might quieten them down some.

2nd question: what oil and oil filter and spark plugs do i use on it? (that i can buy at autozone, advance auto parts)
- If it is a black top S13 engine (meaning its older than 1993), then you can get oil filter off a 1995 Nissan Sentra SR20. Spark plugs, I always run NGK BCPR7ES, gapped down to .028.

- Read the SR20 FAQs, has a break down of what you can use and RWD SR20 specific.

As for the OP I won't be so nice. I doubt u searched this man cus I know all that info on interchangable parts is on here I use it all the time when i need to get partas cus fuck remembering all the numbers and years and models and all. As for the alternator there are plenty of threads about that including several by a member named codyace where he breaks down alt upgrades and how u can use a Nissan quest alternator with a special bracket (just one example, most recent thread Ive viewed on the subject).

Since ur new and I feel like givin all u newbs shit isn't really solving anything I'm going to tell you it's probably best to spend some solid time on here for the first few weeks or so reading a lot. Then if you still have specific questions that are really unsearchable then ask

Like I said, read around the FAQs first and get a handle on what works and what doesnt work. If you got a question, PM me instead of asking the same ol question in here.

Thats one thing you noobs dont understand, if you atleast attempt to search something, you actually try to read up on it but you get flooded with info and got you more confused about it...PM some of the guys who have talked about it. 99% of the time, they will answer you and actually explain it to you. I know alot of the OG premies would do that, specially me.

PS: I'm not in socal...I'm in shit hole Yuba City/Beale AFB. This place gotta be the shittiest part of CA, I'd rather be in Stockton than this shit hole. No take that back, Stockton smells like cow poo...

Who gives a shit if SRT-4s are fast they are fwd... Cool you own a 460 whp neon awesome it's still fucking worthless cus it's front wheel drive. I use to know ppl back in the day with 300-400 hp civics and was like cool ur car can go fast in a straight line, but ill still pull on u all day in the mountains, have fun with the understeer

Im sorry but there have been way too many of these FNG "what do you think is the best way to wipe my own ass" threads on here lately... As for my previous post "brochacho" I was calm and there was very little hate going on there, trust me u'd know when and if I aim to attack and lay hate on fools...
