Transmission won't come off! Now with pictures and a result
So I got a new clutch for the car. Spec stage 4 unsprung to be exact and I installed it onto the car. Long story short the clutch pedal doesn't work after I installed everything. The slave cylinder still pushes out fine. I installed the clutch in the right way so I'm trying to take the tranny back out but it's stuck. It won't budge. We got it about half an inch away from the engine but it won't go anymore than that. Tried prying from 3 different directions. Rocking the shit out of it, lifting it up, putting it back down it won't budge. Any opinions will be greatly appreciated

It's hitting the underbody of the car probably.
Loosen the motor mounts or take them off. Tilt front of motor up. Pull rear of trans down. Make sure something is holding the engine in so everything doesn't come crashing down. If its not that. Push the trans back on then twist and pull it back off. |

You've covered the basics, like getting the shifter out of the way I presume.
If the slave cylinder is pushing out, what is the status of the clutch fork? Does it feel right, rattle, right location. Just wondering if the throw out bearing ended up in the wrong place. Is there a bolt not fully removed? |

find a way to remove the bolts off the pressure plate. im thinking the clutch disc is stuck on the output shaft. A friend of mine experienced the exact same problem that you are in right now. He was able to remove the pressure plate bolts by pulling off the clutch fork. try it out. make sure u have someone supporting the trans while u remove the pressure plate bolts.

Everything is off. The shifter is out, starter. All the bolts, it wont even come out far enough to hit the firewall yet. I've done this a few times and i know most of the tricks to getting the tranny out, like loosening mount bolts and tilt engine. But it's not even to that point yet. Like I said the tranny seems to be stuck.

When I put the tranny on I just screwed in the bolts and the tranny sucked itself in. It wasn't hard or anything. It just went in like normal. But im going to start working on it again in a little here. I'll keep you guys updated

yeah try yanking the clutch fork out. when you were installing the trans, did it have a gap?? If it did have then that means you forced the trans in by putting on the bolts. Once u get the trans out clean the output shaft and a lil lube doesnt hurt. If the clutch disc is stuck on the shaft try your best to remove it without breaking it. My friend ending up breaking his disc which has 0 miles on it. let me know once u remove it.

Tried again for 2 hours before I went to work. Nothing. It won't budge. Tried taking the clutch fork out but by the time i got to that I was already going to work. Didn't really get to mess with it.

I had this problem before but did you remove all the screw around the tranmission because somtime you could end missin one that could be the problem.. The tranmission heavy and try putting hydraulic jack under it and some try to pry it and pull the jack.. I did that and it came right out.

All bolts are off. The tranny is about a quarter inch off. It just won't go any further. Ill try and get a video later after work

like someone previously said... loosen up the crossmember bolts but dont take them out completely just enough to lower the motor and you should be able to get that tranny out easier.... twist and pull good luck... btw unsprung clutches are no good IMO.

Use a jack and a 2x4 to push up on the front of the motor so that it tilts the rear downward. This should give you enough free play to get it out. If not strap a hoist to the engine, pull it out of the cradle towards the radiator.

It's not stuck on the firewall. It's still stuck on the positioners. The little studs that come out from the engine. I've been working and school so I don't have time to work on it. But I'll update tomorrow as I only have school till 1130am

if its on a lift, attach a chain puller to the rear of the car and wrench it tight pulling the trans back.
if its on the ground, attach a chain to something and push the car away, pulling the trans back. you need to get more of a linear pull i think you have the engine straight and the trans angled down, then youll need to straighten out the trans, push it all the way back in, then pull it out horizontally. or inline with the engine if you have it tilted. keep us updated |

1)just remove the whole engine and trans out, for the 2 hours you put into it, you might as well remove everything now, should be easier and SAFER to rock the tranny around......2)maybe you took out the shifter while it was in first gear, or another gear?????????????possibility??

Alright guys, had a friend that worked as a mech for over 7 years come by and check it out. He said its not gonna come out under the car. And said that the shaft is prob stuck on something or went in the wrong way that's why it's not coming out. I'm gonna pull the engine out on Tuesday when I'm off and see what's going on here. He said worst case scenario I might have to buy a new clutch disc. Fackkkkkkl!!!!!!

Sounds good, i'm guessing u might have left it in a gear and since your guide pins are still on that that makes it impossible to twist and pull, or even get it unstuck, idk, either way good luck

tip: hook engine up to a hoist, then take motor mounts off, lift it up a couple inches, and let the rear of your transmission drop, ...then twist, pull, pull and twist.
My first tranny pull took a day too. (that sounded really gay)
