RB25 coil pack upgrade

I've searched around and could only find info on doing the LS coil pack swap to series 2 RBs, however I have a series 1. As you guys know the series 1 needs the ignitor.

Does anyone have any info as to whether or not the series 1 can be upgraded ?

I'm not really down for the DSR or Splitfires.

Thanks.

The LS2 coils have ignitors built into them so you can ditch the ignitor chip and wire the signal wires directly to the LS coils. There is a huge writeup thread on nico rb forum on how to wire these up. Search "whatsadsm". There is also a megasquirt writeup on how to do it too.

Can this be done on a stock ECU considering the dwell and all that jargon?
