as long as the J30 VLSD has 6 bolt output flanges, all you have to to is unbolt your diff and install the new one. If the J30 has 5 bolt flanges, you will need to go back and get the axles off of the car and then install them into your 240. All this nonsense about having your driveshaft shortened... I have done 4 J30 lsd's into 240sx's with no problems always using the factory, non-modified driveshaft.

they may seem to long but I assure you they will fit. The longer axle goes on the passenger side.

are there any drivability issues with the longer axels, also are these lsd's any good I have heard that they have different gear ratios, that hurt your top end speed.

my neighbor talked about axles and stuff and he said that if it was a bit long, it might bottom out, or something like that. he also said something about the dust cover or something rubbing against the hub? not sure with the terms though, but i hope you know what i mean, PSI240SX

I removed my dust cover when I switched to 5 lug hubs. But I have done a J30 LSD without having to remove them. The axles are the exact same size.... I just did a swap on thursday night of last week using J30 axles.
