To people with oil coolers installed, problems? no problems? priming issues? etc...

Yes, there are several general threads about oil coolers. But I want to hear specifically from people that ACTUALLY HAVE THEM INSTALLED. If that's you, do you ever have any problems like oil pressure drops, trouble priming the engine, etc. Any negative experiences at all? Rock ever hit your cooler and it leak, etc. Or if not, drop a line saying you have one with no issues and for how long.

Just looking at pros and cons of a cooler. I'll be using mine pretty much on a track only car (will see some, but very little street time). As is, my engine water temps are great. But I think the coiler will prolong engine life and allow me to run a little more boost when I want to. Plus I'm in TX and summers get HOT here.

We installed an Isis one on my buddy's sr coupe. Quality control is horrible, one of the lines that goes to the cooler didn't have the fitting properly crimped on. Started the car for the first time with the sr in it and the line blew off the fitting spraying oil everywhere. 4 quarts of oil on the garage floor.

I ran one for a while, no issues. Stay away from sandwich plates though.

what brand cooler? and why do you say stay away from sandwich plates?

i got one with my motor, and I was planning on using it for filter relocation (is this bad?), but not with the cooler. I was going to use a tomei oil block adapter for the cooler.

I usually stay away to use them for flow of oil cooler because you're cooling "unfiltered" oil, which can cause clogs.

Very good call. Wasnt sure if there was a high rpm warping/deflection issue like ive seen on some aluminum block engines.
