Chase Bays Power Steering Cooler

Anybody know if on these ends I should use any thread sealant of any type? These are standard end fittings with no seat when threaded in so something must be used?

I use thread sealant on everything that could leak. It's called extra protection and learn to use it.

I have read many times that sealant is a no no. What type did you end up using?

It depends on what type of fitting they use will determine if thread sealant is used or not.

But my guess is no thread tape should be used.

If it is an AN fitting, there is no need for any type of sealant. However I use teflon tape on NPT/pipe fittings.

jesus. teflon tape is NOT a sealant. it is a LUBRICANT for NPT fittings that is meant to lubricate the threads so that you can tighten it more. notice how much more you can crank down on a fitting with tape on it. so dont THINK of it as a sealant. its not meant to seal. think of it as a lubricant and to only use a little bit and you will have less leaks.

You shouldn't use Teflon tape. Use liquid sealant if you have to.

The kit should come with copper washers.
