jwt cams on NA ka24de

I am currently running these (have been for the past 1/2 year) and due to the alot of regular city driving I am kind of disappinted with the lack of low end power. There definitley was alot of power loss below 4000 RPM. On stock cams the car had a pull around 3000-5000 RPM which felt great, but now that "pull" is gone even though there is alot more pwoer up top until 6500 redline.
I am just wondeirng you other ppl that run cams (doesn't matter what kinda cams) how are your cams feeling? I am particularly interested in the nissan motor sports 248/248 cams which sohuld give up a lil bit up top yet retain a little more on the bottom end. They may be more of what I am looking for.

Hate to say that you don't know what you're talking about, or maybe your engine just can't breathe worth a damn. Either way, maybe it's just the new top end is so much stronger than the new low-end. Here's what I'm saying. This is a dyno graph shamelessly stolen from some other website.

As you can see, he had intake/header/exhaust/cams and made 30rwhp, with no loss of power on the low end. That's because his engine had "supporting mods" which yours may be lacking. Just like you can run 8psi on a KA-T on stock injectors, but you'll only make 196rwhp like that guy on FA who posted about it a week ago, and yet I'm running 249rwhp at 6.5psi.

that is an impressive dyno, do you ahve the site so I can read more about it? www.ka24development.com has a dyno of before/after the cams that shows what I am talking about. There was a good drop of power even up to 3000-4000. Don't get me wrong I like these cams alot but am jus wondering how some of the other cams are in the low/mid RPM range.

I am the one running these cams and I am the one feeling the loss of power...before you go around telling ppl what they do or don't know, I'd sugget you get to know them better. although i'd like to be believe that the new top end is soo strong my low/mid feels weak ;]
I am also running an intake, header, and 65mm exhaust along with a SPEC stage 1 and a fidanza flywheel.

That dyno was just stolen off FreshAlloy from some post I searched around for. You do have the supporting mods for cams, and don't quite know why they all wouldn't work in sync to reduce some losses, or even create gains. *shrug* I lowered my car's compression, changed to JWT cams, added an apexi N1 3" exhaust, swapped auto -> manual, and felt a huge power increase. Are your plugs/wires/o2 sensors up to par?

I had always accepted the fact that these cams lost power on the low end. But since you mentioned it, it's about time to do some tune ups anyway and we'll see what that does.

All cams have a power loss at one point and a gain at another. But with supporting mods, that loss should be negated, as in the dyno graph I posted. I certainly didn't feel a 12 ft/lb loss when I drove my car around like Orion did. *shrug*
