SR S14 water pump in s13 sr

so im about to purchase a new waterpump for my s13 sr and i see that the s14 one has beter flow and u can can bypass one mounting hole by sealing it up, which im fine with. i googled this and really didnt find any hard evidence just negative comments,so my question is ... is it worth it getting the s14 one for the s13 sr? is there any higher possibility for leaks .. i just dot wanna take their word for it thats all. thanks again

I would probably just get an s13 one. I read that it works as well aside from the one extra bolt hole. And according to frsport they have ran the s14 wp on the s13 with no leaks or problems.

Forum folklore used to say that using an S14 pump was better, however it was proven that much of that was hogwash, due to impeller depth in the actual cavity for the pump, really negating any potential gains...to the point of potentially hurting. Sure they work, but operate correctly is a different animal.

S13 engines run S13 pumps
S14 engines run s14 pumps

I actually bought a S14/S15 waterpump for my Redtop motor and it works great. I bought it from FR Sport. I called to find out if they had any more s13 waterpumps and the guy said the s14 pump would fit and was actually better because they improved the design for better flow. It has one extra bolt hole but that doesn't matter. It works great. I'm now selling my engine becuase I had an accident but that part has been on there since my rebuild and i've had no problems whatsoever from it.

Crap. Quite a bit different depth. I can't imagine the S14 pump COULD work as well on an S13 engine.
