Bad TPS? RB25
Checked my TPS with a MM and going off the readings and a lil write up on skylineaus.com it appears my TPS is bad?
Key On / Engine Off 5v wire reads 5.15v Signal wire @ WOT reads 4.47v Signal wire @ Closed reads .62v The write up on skyline aus stated if I'm receiving my 5v from 5v wire and NOT getting 4.5v @ WOT my TPS is bad. Can someone confirm this? Car bogs and sputters horribly, shuts off at red lights/stop signs, idles a bit rough. Also when the sputters happens I'm @ like 2k rpm then without hitting the gas the engine will rev all the way to 5k by itself then drop back down. |

So, I have to wonder if this is related to this post you started but never followed up on.
http://zilvia.net/f/tech-talk/471610...eps-dying.html What ever happened from this? If you stick with ONE post people might be able to help you. You say your self that you should be getting 4.5V at WOT and you get 4.47V. That's 4.5V as far as I'm concerned. You should be around 4.5V at WOT. You could of burned a contact point somewhere between closed and WOT and the TPS could still be your problem. Unless you can get your hands on an oscilloscope to monitor the voltage over the range of the throttle, try replacing the TPS with one of your friend's. Also, quit abandoning threads and starting new ones. Follow through with updates for everyone else who might be having the same problem as you. |

I have no idea what the problems are man. This is diff from last time or I would continue to update the threads. Spark plug gaps seemed to be causing the sputtering and dying last time. That has been corrected and car has been running pretty good up until about 3 days ago.
I'm at .62 closed when supposed to be at .5 |

You can unplug the TPS and the car should still run and drive. That's the beauty of MAF cars.
I think it might be more of an IACV issue though.

.62 V is only a little high. It wouldn't cause the problems you are having. If anything the car would just idle a bit high. Is the throttle body actually all the way closed?

either way to the OP Your .62 at idle is high. and it needs to be adjusted. as well as you 4.47v at WOT is lowish but won't hinder your performance or drivability. But being since you can get it to be even at Idle and WOT your TPS is probably bad. You should be able to adjust it to be almost near perfect. IE .45vidle - 4.5vWOT., have you tried cleaning the connections? |

TPS can go out of synch over long periods of time, carbon build up , being bumped around during shipping, ect. try adjusting it. if that fails then replace it. |

Turns out it was the MAF. Had to open it up and check out what was up. Turns out the solder had come off some of the pins inside the MAF. Re-soldered and everything is tip top!!! (So far) Thanks for all the help guys! |
