Question Re-certifying racing seats?

I have searched around and have only been able to find information about seat belts however when it comes to the seats I find nothing. Just wanted to know if anyone has herd of or knows where to get a seat re certified for track use again if at all possible. Thanks.

I checked over the FIA site to try to find the source of information your looking for, but to no avail. I didn't put much time into it because the website is actually a pain to surf through. Look for yourself if you want: Federation Internationale de l'Automobile

I'm pretty sure the answer is no. Seats degrade strength over time.

I concur, as far as I know seats cannot be re-certified. When the seatbelts are re-certed they re-stitch the belts and inspect the straps themselves.

If you have an expired or non-certified seat, most sanctioning bodies require you run a back brace.

If you install some seat back braces you should be able to continue to run the seats.

Infinitely, as far as I know. ALL non-FIA seats are required to run back braces by most sanctioning bodies. At this point your seat is simply no longer FIA certified.

I am trying to look where I saw this before but I believe Bride offers a re-certifcation program for their seats. It can extend the FIA for 2 more years as long as it passes.

Not sure what kind of seat you have, but I would contact the MFR.
