s13 Rear Upper Control Arms

I have a pair of battle version control arms. I'm having trouble removing the stock ones, the nuts came off fine but the bolt furthest back (bushing end) , will not budge out, it appears to be a washer holding onto the bolt, are there any tips in removing this or in general about installing these arms?

Bump for you. I ran into the same problem and would like to know as well, but if I find out from anyone at the meet tonight, I'll post it up for you.

Isnt there a tab in which holds the bolt into place to prevent play? Look at that and make sure its not holding it on there. It SHOULD come right off. Just thought I would mention this... might not be the problem.

thats for my s14, but id assume you are hitting the same problem i did. basically the washer has a tooth in it that locks into place on the bolt. you gotta fiddle with it to get the tooth on the washer to line up with the groove on the bolt.

why didn't you just use a breaker bar? Is there not enough room to work in there or what?

If anything is ever frozen in place use heat, preferably oxygen/acetalyne. If you don't have access to that go to the hardware store and get some MAPP gas or even propane torch will work. If you can get wurth products anywhere, get some Rost Off ICE. A last resort would be to cut the arm with a sawzall right in front of the bushing, then cut the bolt on each side of the bushing.

Just did mines today plus the toe arms as well. Only one out of the four had the washer not lined up. All you have to do is wiggle the washer around to line it up with the bolt and then just hit the bolt out. Pretty easy once you play around with it but yeah, it's really cramped there.

For my RUCA's, I remember using a breaker bar and a 4ft long cheater bar. Super Torque!!! Remember kids, Torque = F(r)sin(theta).
