So I did this swap, and now my tach is no longer working. does anyone know how to get that bad boy working again?

Get another tach. Sohc tach does not read dohc signal.

^^^ What he said, the sohc tach signal is different then the dohc so it will not work. You could get a converter but it would be eaiser and cheaper to just swap a tach in from a dohc 240.

could I use an HUD cluster, I have one just laying around just need to get the subharness.

regardless if its HUD or a normal tach its gotta be DOHC man.. i had a sohc HUD and had to get a DOHC one when i did my sr swap. or you could get an sr cluster...
